Unfortunately, Greece is neither United States, nor United Kingdom!
Smoking is "reigning" everywhere and seems that, we Greeks, we do not take any action to "ban" it! Being a "non-smoker", I really suffer, but nobody cares about my rights! You have been warned!

Hi
Thanks for your reply. When the smoking ban came in to where I live , Scotland ,it was great as you could go out fo an evening without coming back smelling like an old ash tray.

Thankfully Crete is in Greece, not the cold and unfriendly UK. I cannot remember ever either eating or drinking in Greece when other peoples habit has infringed on my enjoyment. The reason for this is simple, everyone eats and drinks outside....
If it concerns you so much, then go to the US for your holidays. That seems to be the only other country where rules regarding smoking have been introduced as laws. Whilst I do not smoke myself, I question the wisdom of a country where they allow murderers and rapists to walk free, yet penalise someone for smoking? Seems more than a little strange to me, but that's just my opinion.

I have already travelled to the US and actually smoking was quite bad while I was there. Here in Scotland it is far better now that they have introduced no smoking in enclosed places ,at least you can eat without food tasting of other peoples smoke and your clothes and hair still smell fresh when you go back outside.
