| Lucerne | Mount Rigi or Mount Pilatus Posted: Mon August 27, 2007 02:25 PM UTC
Can they both be reached all year round? Which one is in that case the most
1) scenic 2) easy to reach (huge cost difference?) and is one better than the other in a sudden weather change (because it has a nice restaurant, exhibition or whatever)? Do you need a full day for both or half days only? |

When I was in Lucerne last friday mount Pilatus was in the clouds, but the Rigi was clear. So a lot can depend on the weather. So better first check what the weather is on the top before you go. Both are very scenic. Both cost the same (more or less)
Both are quite easy to get to, and can be done in half a day. Both the Pilatus and the Rigi can be done year round, but the Pilatus railway does close in winter, so your only option then is the cable car.
