I hope to get to Manaus in a month a half ... the idea is to take a boat along the Amazon River all the way to Belem.
Has anybody done this before? I heard it takes 2 or 3 days, how is it? I'm a little bit concerned about the price of that boat, does anybody know how much it is? Where can I get some sort of schedule information? Thanks! |

i have done the trip and it takes about 4-5 days.
the price is roughly 100 US dollars for the trip if you sleep on the deck in your hammock and that price includes 3 meals a day on board. there is no set schedule as the boats are combined cargo/passenger boats that just leaves when there is enough cargo/passengers, but there are boats leaving almost every day. i have a few photos on my estado do amazonas page that you might wanna have a look at.

i ate all the food served on the boat when i went and my stomach was perfect.
it was not the most interesting food but i was fine all the way. just make sure you like spagetti 3 tımes a day.
