You should find lots of funk on South St. Antique shops used to be all along Pine St. Both are in the downtown area. I used to love going through those funk shops!

I agree with "Zuriga"- South Street, from the River Ward to about 11th St, and about any 3 blocks north of South Street you will find several shops with all sorts of surprises.

If you are traveling by auto, you might also try nearby Lambertville, NJ (an easy 40 minute drive north of Phila). If you care to see some lovely rural vistas along with your antiquing, you might like to make a day of it by:
Starting out in Lambertville, NJ,
Cross the bridge into New Hope, PA, turn north on Main St, go about a mile to
South Rt. 202 taking this straight into Doylestown, PA.
Both Lambertville and Doylestown are simply packed with wonderful antique shops.
If you haven't had enough yet, you can catch Rt 413 South from Rt 202 (just north of Doylestown) and follow this road along to Newtown, PA (another town with several shops).
All along Rt 413 from Doylestown to Newtown are dozens of roadside antique shops and small wineries. Restaurants abound in Newtown, Doylestown, and Lambertville, as well as countless victorian buildings, museums and art galleries.

Returning to Philadelphia take Rt 413 South to Rt 332 East to I-95 South.
Hope this helps!
