I'm going to be very lazy and post this question for a friend, rather than doing research.

What are the cheapest and fastest ways to get from Southampton (cruise termination) to Heathrow (one cheapest, one fastest)?

What are the cheapest and fastest ways to get from Southampton to Stansted?

Here's the Stansted info, which I ignored first time round:

Train from Southampton to London first (or coach, if you've got loads of time). www.nationalrail.co.uk for trains, www.nationalexpress.com for coaches.

Then http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/stansted.htm has all relevant onward links.

I also found the National Express website. My friend is attracted to the very cheap fares that she can find on EasyJet. But I think she'd actually be better off taking the National Express bus to Heathrow and then flying on BMI. I've given her the info for both though.
