| Banja Luka | Banja Luka to Beograd Bus Posted: Sat August 25, 2007 11:23 AM UTC
Hi,
I am going to catch a bus from Banja Luka to Beograd, and want to go the fastest way, which I believe is through Croatia. I had a look at the timetable and there are 3 different options (GP Gradiska, GP Brod, and preko Bijeljine). Can somebody tell me which of those is the fastest? And which is the slowest? Thanks |

Well, I think you dont have so many options if you travel by bus. Ask there where you will buy the ticket; on the bus station in Banja Luka. But I think the fastest way is to go to Bosanska Gradiska in Croatia over Slavonski Brod and there on the highway to Belgrade. Its really nice highway, I dont think you will have any complications.

The bus company Lasta http://www.lasta.co.yu/ has regular buses from Banja Luka to Belgrade. Check it!

Thank you, I did try to ask at the bus station but the lady did not speak any English (and I have no phrasebook), I have just found a map and yes it looks like the Gradiska route would be the fastest.
Thanks

Yes, the one via GP (= granicni prijelaz - border crossing) Gradiska should be the fastest - this way the bus will enter the motorway in Croatia soon after leaving Banja Luka. Which also means it won't have additional stops in other places (there will probably be one of two rest stops).
If you take the bus via Brod or Bijeljina you can count on additional stops in places along the way, plus it will take the local roads in Bosnia which are 2-lane only.

The Belgrade Bus Station timetable http://www.bas.co.yu/basweb_eng/redvoznje.asp shows departure and arrival times so you can work out the best option. From a quick glance I believe it confirms the advice already given, that the route via Gradiska is quickest.
