Hi,
I live in Riyadh and I would like to travel to Doha, Qatar for a week-end for pleasure. Would you please give me some advices on what are my options for a round-trip ride except flying? Is it possible to drive to Doha? Are there any bus services available? Thanks so much, |

A late reply, but here goes.
Yes you can drive. A comfortable trip via the scenic route is about 5 hours from Riyadh to Doha. Driving at 120 km/h. The route towards Kharj is preferred by myself as you are on a single carriage-way driving on a road where the sand dunes don't want to recognise it. Used mostly by truckers, so it is fairly quite, but a very pleasureable drive. Beautiful scenary. The other route would be to take the motorway towards Bahrain, but that is just boring, in my opinion, and longer.

hi..
sounds like a great journey. I live in riyadh and am thinking of doing the journey as well in a few weeks do i need any special visa's etc to visit doha? i have a british passport - and my wife has a pakistani passport. We are in saudi on a business visa - and do not have an iquama thanks
