| San Antonio | Wyndham St. Anthony Hotel Posted: Tue August 21, 2007 01:49 AM UTC
I want to book the Wyndham St. Anthony for a meeting for 140 people. I have read the reviews about the hotel they go from great to terrible. Does anyone know about this hotel? I also read that there is a park across the street with a large homeless population. Can anyone tell me about the safety of the neighborhood? Can you walk at night without fear?

The St. Anthony is going through renovations right now, I think the meeting space will be completed first and should be very nice. The guest rooms will take a little longer, probably into 2008, as the hotel is one of San Antonio's original historic buildings.
Travis Park is directly across the street from the hotel and is a congregating area for the homeless, but your guests will be walking the opposite direction to reach the Riverwalk, restaurants, shopping. San Antonio is very pedestrian friendly (with all of the usual precautions), and heavily patrolled by the SAPD bike patrol.
