| Philadelphia | Activities for 3-year olds? Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 09:22 PM UTC
We'll be in Philly from Aug. 29th-31st (my 40th b-day and our 10th wedding anniversary) and our 3-year old twins will be with us. Any suggestions for fun activities for kids that young? I'm thinking the Franklin Institute might be a bit boring for them but I read that there is a children's museum behind the Franklin Inst. Any good? We don't feel like driving anywhere since we got a free parking deal with the hotel so we're looking for activites in Center City. We're staying at the Loews (12th and Market).

Enjoy your stay in Philly, (one of my favorite towns). I do not think the Franklin Institute will be boring for your child... Most of the exhibits are hands on and will keep your little one entertained. There is the Touch Museum, right behind the Franklin Institute which is very appropriate for your child... Loews is centrally located, not too far from Independance Hall and Liberty Bell, (walkable distance with stroller)... you are also going to be around 2 blocks from Reading Terminal Market, (a great place to eat and shop!)

| Philadelphia | Probably worth the short drive Posted: Tue August 21, 2007 04:14 PM UTC
I'm sure most kids would enjoy a visit to the Philly Zoo, one of the best in the country.
Also, even if they don't appreciate the importance of the Liberty Bell, make certain you get their photograph in front of it. And the fountain at Love Park might be fun to watch (PLEASE make certain they stay out of the water, though, for everyone's sake).

The zoo is definitely a must. Its the oldest zoo in the US. Also, if traveling a half hour is an option, Sesame Place is just 30 minutes of downtown. Its a Sesame Street amusement park!
