Hi All,
Planning at very last minute, have bought a travel guide, but unable to find too much info!! I'm arriving in Crete on Thursday morning, and will be based in Rethymnon for 10 days. Could you kindly advise recommended day trips that we could take? Also, would like to plan at least a day trip, perhaps overnight in Santorini whilst we're there, could you please post links to the various travel options? Is it a ferry or a flight away? Also, how's the shopping? Thanks all |

Have you looked at the "Rethymno" Tips on VT? I think you may find some useful info. there.
NB If doing a Destination search leave off the final N. Good Luck.

see www.openseas.gr for timetables of ships. As Crete is a large island, rent a car and go visit mountainvillages and the southcoast. Also Samariagorge is nice to visit, and Georgoupoli and Chania. have lots of fun, marja

Have a look at my Crete pages, as well as other VTer pages on Crete. This is what VT is about. You will find lots of information on Vters pages. I especially recommend driving down from Rethymonon to Plakia and to Preveli. It is only a 30 minute drive and very beautiful. Have a great time in Crete.
