| Philadelphia | Closest to Wachovia statium? Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 07:38 AM UTC
We're coming in to Philly just for the day, for a concert. We decided Just to do the hop on hop off bus thing, just to get a taste of the city ( unless anyone knows a better 1 day tour?)
Our concert is at wachovia complex at 3601 s Broad st philly 19148... We're going to loop around once to see everything, then hop on/off. Which one of these stops should we stop off at last...which one is closest to the statium? Thanks:) Stop 1. Independance Visitor's Centre Stop 2. Betsy Ross House Stop 3. National Constitution Center Stop 4. Chinatown Stop 5. Hard Rock Cafe Stop 6. City Hall Stop 7. Basilica of St Peter And St Paul Stop 8. Rodin Museum Stop 9. "Rocky's Steps" Museum of Art Stop 10. Eastern State Penitentiary Stop 11. Philadelphia Museum of Art Stop 12. Philadelphia Zoo Stop 13. Franklin Institute Science Museum Stop 14. Logan Circle Stop 15. Academy of Music Stop 16. Antiques Row Stop 17. South Street/Head House Square Stop 18. Society Hill Sheraton Stop 19. Penn's Landing/waterfront Stop 20. Old City/Christ Church |

I grew up in Phila. but left quite awhile ago - even before the stadium was built. To be honest, none of the bus stops are near the stadium because they all seem to concentrate on the Center City area. I'm pretty sure the subway must go much closer to the stadium which is quite far south off the main street which is Broad Street. Probably, the City Hall stop is your best best for getting public transportation to the stadium. Maybe someone else can suggest an alternative or say what a cab ride from there would cost. It's a straight run down Broad St. If you hop off at South St. - go find a great cheesesteak sandwich!

None of those stops are within walking distance.
The easiest is to get off near City Hall or Academy of Music and take Orange subway line to the end. http://www.septa.org/maps/click_map.html http://www.comcast-spectacor.com/ParkingAndDirecti

When is the concert? I ask because you could hit traffic on Broad Street which runs directly in front of the stadium to the downtown area.
If I were you, I would end my bus tour (which by the way is a great value) at The Academy of Music, jump in a cab and head straight down Broad to the stadium. If you're not familiar (and comfortable) with subways, it could be intimidating. If you want more info, feel free to email me at gmt1102@yahoo. Have fun.

The best and cheapest way to go to the Wachovia Center is by subway. Two of the stops that you mention are located at a subway stop, City Hall and Academy of Music. I would also suggest the Academy of Music stop because the two subway systems intersect at City Hall and it is more complicated to find the station you want there. Go to www.septa.org to get information about fares and a map of the subway.

Thank everyone. I think we'll take the subway there. Thanks again!
