Nantes Bristol to Nantes without a car

How do I get from Bristol to Nantes without a car?
Possibilities are:

go to La Rochelle by plane easijet and take a train to Nantes
go to Bournemouth for flight to Nantes

ferry to St Malo then by bus or train - any infor????

Why not Cardiff -Nantes with bmibaby? Much more starightforward for a Bristolian!

Apologies - Noel is right. One of my daughters has already flown Aer Arran to Nantes to visit my niece.

The point is that there is indeed a direct service Cardiff-Nantes. But it's operating only on saturdays.
