Can I withdraw US Currency by a VISA Card in Quito, or Ecador?

If you use your Visa Card at an ATM in Quito the cash you withdraw will be in the local currency - of Equador - not US Dollars.
It works that way all over the world which is why it is always recommended as the easiest, safest and most economical way to obtain cash wherever you are travelling.

Have to disagree, I'm sorry. In many countries (a.o. Colombia, Peru and if I remember correctly Ukraine as well) it is possible to withdraw USD as well as local currency. The question for Ecuador: as I understand the legal tender there is the USD.

BTW, checking Mr. Young's postings I see that said Mr. Young has a habit of never coming back to give a reply to the people who answered his questions. I think that is not a very friendly way of behaviour here.

Just a caution to make sure you let your card carrier know that you will be in Ecuador. A fellow traveler last year in Ecuador was not allowed access to her funds because her carrier saw it as a red flag that her card was being used out of the country.
