Antwerp football tickets - Germinal Beerschot
Posted: Fri August 17, 2007 05:30 PM UTC
Will be in Antwerp the weekend of August 24 - 26 (from Canada)
How do i get tickets to the Germinal Beerschot match on the 25th?
I sent a note to the team administation.
The response was that pre-sales start on Wednesday, at the stadium ticket office.
Any risk of being sold out before my arrival on Friday?
Any other means to acquire tickets?
Thanks!

Sorry he can't get there as the selling is during the afternoon and he has to work.
I work not too far away from it and I might try to get there after hours.
It is a top match and the prices vary from 20 to 28 Euro. I guess such matches are sold out easily, you never know, previous one was.
I would not mind going to get one for you but how will you garantee you will coming around to get it ? :)
I mean you are a new and unknown member?
And is it equal to you what to get? the cheap or the less cheap?

As the match is on 25th you better get the tickets or on 24th or in the morning/afternoon on 25th?
I will be going to the big market in the city (theaterplein) on 25th in the morning. If you would be around I could bring it then.
But... I just need a bit more of information of you :)

Football matches are rarely sold out in Belgium, but that weekend it's against Racing Genk so maybe it will be sold out. Maybe you can contact the supporters federation? See http://www.germinal-beerschot.com/index.php?menu=Supporters&pag=Supportersfederatie

irisbe -- that's an incredibly nice offer.
(Interested in 2 tickets @ 20E, but would commit to the 28E as well).

My spouse and I are definitely arriving at Brussels airport this Friday morning(24th), and immediately taking the bus to Antwerp.

With little way to get in touch with me, it may be a tad difficult (though I am staying near the train station). So I'm surely arriving, and while I wouldn't back out on such a nice gesture, I'd also hate to leave you in the lurch if we somehow couldn't connect...

So nice meeting the two of you as well.

Antwerp is instantly one of my favorite cities, no doubt because of your hospitality.

Looking foward to a future gathering, whether in Antwerp, Montreal or elsewhere...

Hi Iris, are you still running your Germinal ticket service?(wink)
Ok, I know you dont have any service, but I would like to know if it's easy to get tickets for the Belgian Cup match on November 25, myself and a friend will be there, we arrive in Antwerpen the day before about 19:00, but we could arrive earlier if you think it would be achance to buy tickets on the saturday afternoon?
How far is the stadium from the centre? Our hotel is on Amerikalei, is that anywhere near the stadium?
We would love to meet up with you if you are going to the game, or just to go out in the city. I was there once before and really like it.
Just one more question, does anyone know if it's possible to go by bus from Eindhoven to Antwerpen on a saturday afternoon/evening? The eurolines timetable seems to indicate not, so are there any other coach services? I cant find it on various bus sites that I have searched. The reason I would prefer coach is that the train takes over 2 hours and requires changes, and it's only about 1 hour by road from Eindhoven to Antwerpen.
Thanks.

Hi Alex
I will check on the ticket and let you know.
Since last I have been relocated from work from "nearby" the football stadium into the city centre.

sure you are welcome in Antwerp for a drink, but that depends how long time you will be around. I am off from Saturday noon till Sunday afternoon. And Sunday evening I am babysitting throughout Monday... chances are odd I have time for a drink. I will not join the match either. sorry for that `-)
From Americalei I have to check public transport but it might be tram 2 or maybe now a new line trams 6 (I got to see where that goes) but 2 comes very near the stadium and in the city center passing underneath the de Meir and the De Keyzerlei,... depends on what side of Amerikalei you are on.

As for the trip from Eindhoven, I would ask member CATNL, she lives in Eindhoven and has been here a couple of times.

Hi Nomadser

I'm an English supporter of the opposition team on Sunday 25th November, Union St Gilloise. You shouldn't have any problems buying tickets at the ground on the day of the game as I can't see it selling out - go to www.germinal-beerschot.be and there's a piece about ticket details on the news page, I don't know much Dutch but it looks like the main ticket office will be open until 2pm for a 3pm ko and prices start from 10 EU. I've not been to the ground before but you can get Tram 2 to Olympiade (direction Hoboken) from Diamant Premetro station (near Centraal station). There will undoubtedly be some sort of supporters' bar at the ground that you can go in. I've always found Belgian people in general & Belgian football fans in particular to be incredibly friendly & hospitable so don't be scared to talk to people!

Despite a proud history including 11 Belgian league titles (see www.rusg.be for further details), Union are currently playing in the 2nd division. We won away at the then league leaders, Hamme, yesterday though so will hopefully not be overawed. GBA didn't play last weekend because of the international games but beat anderslecht 2-0 the week before. One of the goals was scored by a striker, Malki Sanharib, who used to play for Union.

Hope you enjoy the game and may the best team in yellow & blue win! (With a late consolation from Malki Goal Machine for GBA).

Hope this helps a little
