| Helsinki | Helsinki in early November Posted: Thu August 16, 2007 11:49 PM UTC
My wife and I will be in Finland for the first weeks of November. What are the "don't miss" for a 4-day weekend in Helsinki? What are nearby cities not to miss? We've tentatively planned to visit St. Petersburg, Stockholm and Tallinn; are there other nearby spots you like? How cold will it be then?
Thank you, Al Lowe |

I agree with John. Take a separate trip for St.Petersburg or Stockholm. Porvoo is a good place to go for half a day or so.
However, Helsinki alone can easily offer you places of interest for several days. The cultural life is rich, including all sorts of concerts, one of the best operas in Scandinavia, too many art museums and galleries, etc. On non-rainy days the city architecture may offer you pleasant city walks. Bar life is abundant, too. Give a hint on your interests! regards kossu

All those cities are very well worth a visit. Tallinn (old town) can be seen in a day. St.Pete and Stockholm would require many more days.
Weather = rain, snow, wind, sun, cold, warmish. Anything's possible in Nov. But one thing is for sure - It will be dark early.
