Seychelles Seychelles fishing

We are planning to visit the Seychelles next summer in conjunction with another trip. As an ardent fisherman, does anyone have any info on fishing? When, which island, cost, etc Thanks TC

My husband is also a big fan of fishing. He brought his pole on our trip and fished off the back of the catamaran we sailed on for 11 days (by the cabin charter). I think this worked out perfectly for him -- while the rest of us were sunbathing and reading, he was busy fishing. I posted some pictures in my Seychelles travel guide here.

It seems he caught fish off of just about every island (be careful as you can't fish in the preserves and there are a lot of them) but the best fishing was en route from Silhouette to Bird Island where he caught 6 or 7 bonitos. When we first started planning our trip, I looked into some charter fishing and it all looked very expensive. The fish are quite plentiful throughout the islands so you should have a lot of luck. If you can handle a non-luxury catamaran for your trip, I'd highly recommend booking through Dream Yacht Charters. It's really a great way to see the islands and to fish until your heart's content.

Good luck!
