I absolutely can recommend Hotel Esturion; it is located in the town of Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) and about 15 km's from the falls. Easy accessible by bus or taxi.

From the outside, (closed for rennovations when I was there last) it looks like a great place. Nice location as well in a sleepy part of town with vistas of Paraguay and Brazil. You'll still have to catch a bus/taxi to the parque. I stayed at the Sheraton in the falls--which is a close as you can get. The service and the view from the room was amazing, but for the price the room was fairly standard. I also stayed at Hotel Paraná in central Puerto Iguazu for a considerably lower price. It was clean and the staff there bent over backwards to help our many unusual requests. It has a rooftop pool but is by no means a resort.
