| Atlanta | Left Luggage facilities in Atlanta? Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 05:49 AM UTC
Hi, we will be routing through Atlanta next month and we have a long ( 10 hour) stopover before flying on to Eurpoe.
We are flying with 2 different airlines which means we'll have to collect our luggage then check it in again, with the new airline. With such a long stopover I was thinking of exploring Atlanta a little but of course that gives us the problem of what to do with our luggage. Are there any facilities for storing luggage at Atlanta, or is that a thing of the past? Would the second airline ( Delta) allow us to check our luggage in really early for the onward Atlanta/Paris leg? |

Call Delta customer service. I have checked bags as much as 5-6 hours before flight time with them in the USA and never had them question it. Limtied check in times seems to be more of a European practice.

Who is the first airline? Not sure why you have to collect your luggage and re-check it. Most US airlines are willing to check luggage all the way through as long as you are with a commercial carrier that has the ability to transfer luggage - the only time I have ever had trouble with this was with British Airways in Edinburgh and they were just being obnoxious and would not transfer to United because they were not partners.

Airports should have lockers for rent , but not sure how big they are. But I can't remember if it was Atlanta or Denver that stopped letting people use them. sorry, I guess I am no help!
