I'm going to Brasov from Budapest on September and i was wondering if it was safe going by the night train. Someone can tell me his/her experience? or give me any advice? Thanks in advance.

Is very dangerous to travel by night train in the UE ! Sometimes can be an ambush on the line or something like that, from time to time you can hear the gun shots (maybe with paint...) and see on the windows, romanians and hungaryans cowboy which attack the train !

The plains before the border are a great place for a battle or for attacking moving objects. Take care to avoid the vandals and the goths. The line gets a bit rough once past the border but they have been putting continuous welding so you might be able to sleep.

Too real dangers - getting on and off the train and dying of thirst or hunger. Get some beer and a chinese from the shops outside the station. You're on your own for getting on and off.

I took it: all two and a half hours of the journey - and, believe it or not, I'm still alive. I guess that some times incredible things happen.
