Sevilla Sevilla Santa Justa -> Barrio Santa Cruz bus route
Posted: Sat August 11, 2007 07:39 PM UTC
Hi, we're arriving at Sevilla Santa Justa station and are staying near Plaza Santa Cruz.

From the city bus map [http://www.tussam.es/fileadmin/editores/pdf/plano_sevilla_completo.pdf], it looks like the best way to go is to take Bus 21 [which passes a few blocks from Santa Justa] to Puerta de la Carne, and walking from there. Has anyone taken this route?

I haven't taken this route myself but I have been to Seville and spent time in that part of town. It shouldn't be too difficult to walk from Puerta de la Carne but be sure to have a map because most of the Barrio Santa Cruz is like a maze - some parts are very difficult to navigate.

yes that works. good idea.
I think an alternative bus would be the Airport bus or EA (especial aeropuerto) - this bus runs down Avenida Kansas City and stops at the nearest point to the station - so if you come out of the station turn to your left and walk down the slope towards the street and Kansas City is the wide road that runs to the left and the stop is near the entrance to the station.
This EA bus then goes down Morales and past the Seville Football club stadium and finishes at or near the Prado San Sebastian - a big park - and adjacent to the important bus terminal of the same name. Then it is a simple walk across the wide street Avenida Menendez y Pelayo to the gardens called Murilla or Colon (there is a statue to Colombus) and you will find your way to your destination.
the airport bus runs about every 30 minutes. By the way, this same airport bus returns the same way but when it reaches Santa Justa it goes into the station on its way to the airport and stops right outside near the taxis.

Just an afterthought. If you happen to be arriving on a train coming from the east or south (not the AVE) they usually stop at SAN BERNARDO station - this is just up the road from the Prado and you can easily walk to Santa Cruz. The San Bernardo station is underground so if your train enters a tunnel before reaching Santa Justa look out for San Bernardo !
