So, me and my (soon to be) husband are planning to come to New Orleans (The French Quarter) for our honeymoon. Now I would like to know the MUST places to visit. We would like to experience "old time blues clubs", good food and above all, we would like to know is there any vampireclubs/bars/etc you could ecommend? Or any other interesting places or things to do? Thank you for your help! :)

You should try to find a zydeco bar in the French Quarter. It's the music that the locals listen to and perform.

The Blues Bars are for the tourists.

If you have some time, you should rent a car a drive
West from New Orleans to Cajun country.

The book is rather old, but things don't change too quickly
out in the country.

The people are great, the music is fantastic, and the
food is out of this world! And it is quite inexpensive.

Tipitina's and Howlin' Wolf book different kinds of live music, including blues. Snug Harbor is good for jazz.

for a drink, you might like the lafitte's blacksmith's shop. i believe its the oldest bar in north america. real dark and interesting, go after dark.. its WAY down bourbon, (941 bourbon)

if its your honeymoon and expense is no issue, i highly recommend dinner at Stella, its one of my favorites, but a dinner will set you back easily $300 for 2. Call ahead for reservations, its a tiny place that fills up quickly.

I say, if you like the blues, listen to the blues. For zydeco, try the Rock n'Bowl on Wed or Thurs. Maybe Ye Olde Dungeon for the vampire club atmosphere. I haven't been there so I can't give a personal recommendation. Anyone??
