Belfast Entry stamp
Posted: Fri August 10, 2007 08:07 AM UTC
We would like to visit donegal via Belfast International Airport. We already have a valid UK & Irish Visa. Now how do we get the entry stamp from Ireland embassy on our passport if we enter from Belfast.

Thanks,

Naaz

As far as I am aware there is no passport control between N. Ireland and the Republic. So you won't get your passport stamped.

There is no border control. You will only know you have crossed the border because the road signs change to KM. Also some wag may have painted 1692 on the tarmac facing the republic.

Actually, that would be 1690. No, there is no border control at all any more. No chance as far as I know of getting a stamp.

1stly Northern Ireland is Part of the United Kingdom (ENGLAND,SCOTLAND,WALES,NORTHERN IRELAND =UK) NOT Ireland so you will be going to the wrong embassy if you try and get a visa for Northern Ireland at the Irish embassy you will need to go to a British Embassy near you (www.ukvisas.gov.uk) and www.fco.gov.uk will tell you where your nearest UK Embassy/Consul .
