Quito Looking for a place to stay in Quito
Posted: Wed August 8, 2007 04:53 PM UTC
I'm moving to Quito in 10 days, I'm going to live there for about four months, and I don't have a place to stay (!!). Anyone who knows about some average prized shared apartments, or at least some information about where I could look for one (web page, organization etc)? I appreciate any help!

What I would do is stay at a hotel/hostel in or around Mariscal Sucre for a few days and use it as a base to explore for a more permanent place. This way, you'll know exactly where you'll be staying or want to stay.

If you walk around Mariscal, you'll see postings for shared apartments at Internet cafes, restaurants, laundries, Spanish language schools, and dance schools. You should also check with the South American Explorer club.

A friend of mine found a short-term shared apartment with two Dutch girls on a posting left at a salsa dance school. The school had a bulletin board in the stairwell leading up to the second floor.
