I shall be paying a brief first time visit to McLeod Ganj in early November, coming from Dalhousie and travelling on to Shimla. I'll be travelling by bus but am finding the timetables on HRTC website none too helpful. Can someone tell me how frequently the Dalhousie-McLeod Ganj and the McLeod Ganj-Shimla buses run, or direct me to a better site? Thanks

I found the HMTC site a doddle to use (But having travelled this route I knew that there isn’t a direct route from McLeod Ganj to Shimla – You have to change at Dharamsala)
http://himachal.nic.in/hrtc/route.asp Just enter your departure point and arrival point into the site But don’t select the time that you want your bus and it will come up with something like Route Name [Class] Departure Arrival Fare DHARAMSHALA SHIMLA Dist: 271 Kms 5030022-DHARAMSHALA-SHIMLA VIA MANDI [ORDINARY] 5:00 AM 18:30 PM Rs. 203/- 5030023-DHARAMSHALA-SHIMLA VIA HAMIRPUR (SUPE FAST) [ORDINARY] 8:22 AM 16:00 PM Rs. 186/- 5030024-DHARAMSHALA-ROHRU (SUPER FAST UP TO SML) [ORDINARY] 5:30 AM 13:00 PM Rs. 186/- 5030026-DHARAMSHALA-SHIMLA VIA HAMIRPUR [ORDINARY] 19:45 PM 5:15 AM Rs. 186/- 5030028-DHARAMSHALA-SHIMLA [ORDINARY] 12:00 PM 21:15 PM Rs. 186/- Hope that helps Happy Travels Rob

Thanks for your help. I am using that website and am still getting v. little joy from it. I keep getting the response 'No Direct Route' on the Pathankot-Dalhousie and the Dalhousie - Dharamsala (all three spellings!) routes, and very limited info on the Dharamsala - Shimla leg. Can't understand why. Thaks, Nick

I Think that this bus stops at Dalhousie -- But you would have to double check
