Any suggestions on the best way to get from Timisoara to Krakow (fastest and economical too)?

You could fly from Timisoara to Vienna (there usually are many special offers on this route) and then with some low cost airline from Vienna to Krakow.

Also, the Pannonia Express train (Bucharest - Prague) usually has a coach for Krakow. This train passes through Arad (a city 60 km north of Timisoara) every day around 3.30 PM. So:
1. Get from Timisoara to Arad either by bus (45 minutes; costs 7 lei) or train (1 hour 10 min; costs 5 lei) ;
2. Once in Arad, get on the coach to Krakow (note that you may need to book tickets with at least one day in advance); it reaches Krakow the next morning around 5 AM.
