Hi All,
My husband and i moving to Melbourne at the end of the month and have chosen to live in St Kilda. We are in the process of hunting for a house to rent and would be very greatful if we could have some feedback on the parts of St kilda to stay clear of? We have found a few property's up near wellington / chapel st > what is the local area/people/shops likearound these parts of St kilda? |

Up that end there arent too many shops per se. You will be up at the princes highway end. To be nearer to shops, you will either have to be at the Windsor/South Yarra/Prahran end or Acland street end.
Be prewarned though that rental properties are very hard to come by at the moment, and there are reports through domain.com.au that there can be up to 80 people attending open homes. Rents have also skyrocketed It might pay not to just focus your search in the one suburb or you may become very dispondent. Sites to look at are www.realestate.com.au and www.domain.com.au
