There are two Kyoto branches:

*) 31 Montefiore st. Tel-Aviv, phone (03) 5661234 (http://rest.co.il/sites/Default.asp?txtRestID=5455)

*) 7 Arye Shenkar st. Herzliya, phone (09) 9587770 (http://rest.co.il/sites/Default.asp?txtRestID=458)

The sites are in Hebrew. Notice that you can find a coupon in these sites for a free sake. Just press on the left button on the second (lower) line of buttons. A popup will be opened, just print it and bring it to the restaurant.

You can find much more Japanese restaurants in Tel-Aviv here: http://rest.co.il/search/Default.asp?txtActionID=4&txtRestName=&txtRegionID=3&txtCityID=172&txtTypeID=29&txtAddress=

Or, in Herzliya (10 km north of Tel-Aviv) at: http://rest.co.il/search/Default.asp?txtActionID=4&txtRestName=&txtRegionID=3&txtCityID=172&txtTypeID=29&txtAddress=

HI there

Agree about the sushi samba comments, I really don't get why people make such a big fuss about this place. Since it's a fusion restaurant I didn't see much of a really good sushi selection. And the atmosphere doesn't go well with the food.

As for Kyoto, it's my favorite. They are REALLY REALLY good. So far the best sushi restaurant I've been to, here in Israel. Be prepared to pay big bucks though. Although.... it worth every penny! My suggestion, if you're planning to visit more than one sushi restaurant leave Kyoto to the end, otherwise nothing will be to your satisfaction after trying their delicious food.

Hi there,
Sushi Samba is definitely a matter of taste - some of my friends love it, some (like me), don’t.
But they have a new trick that you might want to know: you tell the chief what you like and how much you want to spend and he designs you a meal, same as they do in Japan, and I don’t know of any other Japanese restaurant in Tel Aviv doing so.
On a related issue, here is a list of Japanese restaurants, with their phone numbers: http://www.sushi4me.com/rests_tel_aviv.html
The site, http://www.sushi4me.com , is dedicated to Sushi in Israel, and of course in Hebrew. Have you thought lately of studying Hebrew? (just joking ;-)
Cheers,
Marius

I know I'm answering late but I think that Sakura on King George is great. That would be my pick.
