Tuk tuk or air conditioned taxi. You can also hire a bicycle if you're that way inclined. I'm not sure what the going daily rates are at present.

The daily charge for a Tuk tuk is US$10-15, and I guess about $25 for a taxi.

No. From Siem Reap to Angkor Wat its about 20 minutes in a taxi, maybe half an hour on a tuk tuk. At least, that's what it felt like!

Oh, is that so? What kind of lifestyle is there in Angkor Wat? Is it laid-back or fast-paced? Aside from the temples, what would the tourists enjoy?

Do your research.
I'm not insulting you, it just sounds like you've not done much research into the area. Angkor Wat is the name for the series of temples (a complex) and one of the most significant archeological sites on Planet Earth and, the largest religious monument in the world. Siem Reap is the city nearest Angkor Wat and where the "touristy" happening places are...shopping, bars, restaurants, etc. Having said that, it is NOTHING wild as say, Bangkok or Phuket, if that's what you're expecting to find. Angkor is all about the experience, the people, the amazing AMAZING history and architecture. I hope I've helped, if not, try this link: http://www.angkorwat.org/

Well, i have but i also want to know if there is more to it than just the temples and the bazaars. Somewhat like, does chiang mai have a secret or something like that? Like what do locals see or experience that tourists must, too.
Anyways, thanks very much for the reply. All replies are helpful. :)

The most common transport is a tuk tuk or a taxi.
A tuk tuk costs about 12$ for one day for the main temple area from around 7am to 6pm. A taxi costs 25$. Check out www.siemreaprooms.com for more info on Siem Reap

Hi,
Yes, a tuk-tuk tour costs about US$12-15 per person. Try to find 2 more travel buddies you can try bargaining for a lower price. I went with 2 other guys and managed to get US$10 per person. There's a market in Siem Reap but it's small and closes in the evening. The tuk-tuk tour usually starts very early in the morning to catch the sun-rise. It is very cold in the morning, then it becomes blistering hot at noon. Try to withstand the cold for about 20 minutes and you would not have the hassle of carrying an extra piece of garment around. Scenario: If you arrive at Angkor Wat on Thursday afternoon 1700hrs and you get yourself a 1 day pass, you are entitled 2 visits. One for Thursday's sunset and 1 for next day's visit. Remember, don't settle on a tuk tuk driver when you see one, who knows the one around the corner might give you a better price. Have fun in Angkor! Cheers

We went on these motorcycle-taxis at USD 8-10 a day.
Every morning, these 2 young boys would come and pick us up from our guesthouse in Siem Reap, chauffeur us around the Angkor temples and bring us back to town in the evening. Works well for me.

Oh, wow! Thank you very much for your tips! I haven't gone online for a relatively long time so I wasn't able to check. I guess it means I don't have to hire a tour guide anymore huh?

It's by tuk2. Angkor complex itself is the greatest architecture I've seen.
