We are due to arrive in Rotterdam on a cruise ship in September. Is there are rail or bas service to Amsterdam? If so do you know where I might find a time table?

Local tram or metro brings you to the central train station; at least 4 services per hour.

Intercity trains to Amsterdam is also 4 services per hour.

With that many travel possibilities you hardly need a timetable.

Although I can understand you would like to visit Amsterdam, I would still advise you to discover Rotterdam. It's not your typical Dutch city but there's loads to see.
Are you coming with the Aurora or Star Princess?
If so, you dock in the middle of town, under the Erasmus bridge (Wilhelminakade).
