Hi everybody,

my husband and I will go to Christchurch on January 2, what is the best way to go downtown, we will stay at the Copthorne Durham... I think it is in the citycenter.

Any tips to have a good dinner there...

I booked an airport shuttle, picked me up from my hostel and dropped me off at the airport, along with a few other stops to other hotels on the way.
That cost NZ$16 one way.
Ooh, it's cheaper for two people, I just did a test (to the CBD) NZ$21 one way, here's the link-

The $5 Airport bus is one of the cheapest ways to get into the the city centre with a 5 minute walk to the Copthorne Durham once you arrive. The shuttle will take you to your hotel door for about $15.

There are lots of food options including Ironside Thai, Pedro's & Dux De Lux all in easy walking distance from your hotel (depending on your taste & budget).

If you go to the Antartic Centre by the Aiport you can get a $4 (I think) bus that anyone can use. I haven't used it yet, but a friedn told me. Saves you $1 compared to the $5 bus plus it has penguins on the roof!

You just get a cab,its only 15-10 minutes from the city and quite cheap. ($40NZ)otherwise you can get a shuttle and thats about $15. There are lots of great places to eat out, I would head to Sol Square which is quite a new area with lots of restaurants and boutique designer clothing. A recommendation would be to get to know the city would be to do the guided Christhchurch City Bike Tour. Its about 2 hours and a super way to see the city and sus out the places to eat at and visit.
