Lucca Buses from San Lorenzo a Vaccoli to Lucca
Posted: Thu August 2, 2007 10:49 AM UTC
Hi there

My family and I are going to be staying at Villa Magnolia just outside San Lorenzo a Vaccoli. According to the website we are 500 metres from the local bar, grocers, newsagents etc. However, we would like to know if there are buses which run into Lucca and how regular they are. We are considering hiring a car as a last resort, but would rather not drive, if the public transport is good.

Also, does anyone know the approximate price for a taxi from Pisa airport to San Lorenzo a Vaccoli and also what the price of a taxi would be from Lucca train station to San Lorenzo a Vaccoli.

Hope someone can help me with information.

Thanks in advance

http://www.vaibus.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4&Itemid=5 has a pdf download of all the Lucca buses (in Italian).

I think you need Linea 54 on the Linee Urbane link. The bus stop is in the centre of the village.

S Lorenzo is only about 5km from Lucca, so it would be cheaper to get a taxi from Lucca station than from Pisa airport (25km or so).

Hi

Hope you don't mind me contacting you but we're considering the Villa La Magnolia as a base for our holiday this year. What did you think of it and the area?

Thanks
Caroline

So sorry for delay.. Haven't logged on for ages.

We thought the villa was nice.. It's about a 10min walk to the bus stop, but it was fine. We're going back to Lucca this year again, but we've opted for a 2 bedroomed apartment in Lucca instead. The villa was nice though - quite old fashioned, but nice and clean
