| Exmouth | yardie creek Posted: Wed August 1, 2007 04:28 PM UTC
Hello
I will be in Coral Bay 13 August and would want to know when it is the better time for crossing yardie creek: 13 august in the afternoon (16.00/16.30) or 14 august in early morning (7.30/8.30). How is the road? i have a 4WD Landcruiser There're caravaning campings after crossing yardie creek? Thanks for info Ciao Giorgio |

I drove down the track through Yardie Creek a few years back. There wasn't any water in the creek then, but you need to check tides with the local information centres. Not much tidal movement there but you still don't want to be around at the wrong time. I recall a camping ground/ caravan park nearby but didn't take any notice of it, was heading southwards to Coral Bay. The road was good, lot of goannas, kangaroos and plains turkeys along the way. I have an 80 series Landcruiser, but wasn't towing anything.

Ask the locals. They will always have the best advice on the current situations. Other travellers are are also good sources of information.
We have done heaps of 4wd treks and have often met with people like yourself that are looking for someone going the same way. Its much more fun to go together.
