Hi,
I am from Kerala, working in Bangalore. Yes, September is the best time to visit Kerala. In one week you can cover Munnar, Thekkady and Aleppey the three most frequented places by tourists. Allowing a day for travel (to and fro), you can start from Cochin (One day), then go to Munnar (2 days), Thekkady (1 day) Aleppey (2 days) and back to Bangalore via Cochin. Well, there is an off-beaten path, if you are going via Mysore. 1-2 days in Wynad if you love Trekking, Wildlife and tropical forests. The capital Trivandrum also offers much to see, like beaches, palaces and all if you can compromise on any one location mentioned earlier. Visiting during last week of August or first week of September is a bonus to tourists since we celebrate our National fesstival Onam in that week. The whole of Kerala vibrates with celebrations (Especially if you happen to be in Trivandrum where the Kerala government organises a 10 day celebration starting from the last week of August). You can also watch the world famous snake boat race in the backwaters of Aleppey during that time. Make sure that you book your journey tickets in advance (if you are opting for buses or trains), because Keralites are so desperate in visiting their land during Onam, making it difficult to get the tickets. I am not an exception:) You can also contact me through my e-mail: tenilcletus@rediffmail.com Best Wishes for yout trip, Tenil.

Chinar Wildlife sanctury,Roaring waterfalls, bloosom park etc. I am sure you will be able to enjoy your trip to munnar.Have very nice stay there. Best Regards Soup
