Plitvicka Jezera National Park senior tourists

I'm going to travel to Croatia and see Plitvicka with my children and my mother by the end of August. She is a senior citizen (77y.o.)and cannot walk a lot.
Is this trip feasable for her?
does someone have ideas about how she can enjoy the place without having to climb many stairs?
isn`t tere a better alternative for her but for staing near the car while we hike?

It depends on how your mother feels in general.
There are no many stairs in the park, it is covered with wooden pathes. But there is an electric train that you can certainly use to make the walk easier for her. You'll see the stops on the map.
And of course walk slowly.

Happy travels!

Hi Plitvice can get hot in summer and cold as winter draws, also the tracks are a little bumpy, some stairs etc. Have a look at the photos on my page and you can assess for yourself, I would think it might be too much for your mother. There is a very nice boat ride on the lake that she would appreciate.
Good Luck,
Mike

If You start from Entrance No. 1 she can do the walking to the view point and from there go direction to the panorama train. This walk takes some 10-15 minutes and there are no stairs to climb. You can than continue walking around the Park and she can go back, there are restaurants, souvenir shops, bar, and everything is so close, as well as the parking place.
