Saint Croix Getting around St. Croix

We are considering taking a ferry to StX from St. John. Can anyone tell me how to get to Buck Island from St. Croix?

Buck Island is easy to visit with many snorkel and boat tours visiting the site from Christiansted. It is a National Park quite close to St. Croix and very interesting. It is not practical to visit St. John by ferry from St. Croix. There is a ferry from St. Croix to St. Thomas I think, but it's a fairly long ride, and then you would have to take a separate ferry to St. John. If you can, fly over to St. Thomas on the seaplane. It's a fabulous experience to take off and land on the water.

Thanks IA. I think that we will rule out a trip to STX and Buck Island because of the time factor. We are still considering a daytrip to BVI though.

If your main visit is to St. Thomas or St. John, it is easy to visit the BVI for a day, either the main island of Tortola, or the island of Virgin Gorda where the famous Baths are located. Both can be reached by ferry, but it may be the Virgin Gorda trips don't go every day. Be sure to bring a passport though...while it is not required for your visit to the USVI, it will be needed to go to the BVI.
