| Cusco | supplemental oxygen in Cusco Posted: Mon July 30, 2007 10:50 PM UTC
Our family will be in Cusco and the Sacred Valley region for the week of Aug 4 - Aug 11. My husband has cystic fibrosis and a hard time breathing with exertion and high altitude. As you can imagine, he's worried about being able to enjoy his time in Cusco!
His doctors have written him a prescription for supplemental oxygen. Does anyone know the best way to get portable oxygen in Cusco? Is it readily available or do we need to contact someone ahead of time to make arrangements? He'd like something portable enough to be able to tour the local ruins and bring on and off buses. thanks for any ideas! |

Your best bet is to contact the hotel where you'll be staying for portable oxygen tanks. Some hotels provide the service to their clients.

Hi
Is travel to Cuzco really a good idea?Given the problems your husband will have, possibly life threatening, its a bit silly to say the least. There is plenty to see and do a lower altitudes...You should reconsider this trip.

Hi Shaunessy,
I was looking for oxygen and found your question. We will succeed. One of your answers was just stupid. It reminds of the time went to play tennis when you were 6 months old. You cried a bit and wanted to be held. So I picked you up in one arm and played tennis with the other. A worried by-passer claimed that I could drop you. OK!? That could happen in the bath tub, so don{t give the kid a bath?! It seems that the answer is..... 'Life is inverably unsafe, acutally terminal in all cases. It is to be lived!!' Love you, Dad
