Im heading over to luxor now in august..i was just wondering where is the spots to go ever night..is there like a city center with pubs nd night clubs..i cant find anything on the internet!!

Luxor is not the place for clubbing and discos, although the Rough Guide to Egyps does list a couple of places that offer some kind of entertainment.

I DONT THINK YOU ARE GOING TO THE RIGHT PLACE FOR PUBS AND CLUBS. ITS A MUSLIM COUNTRY. AS FAR AS I KNOW ALCOHOL IS ONLY SERVED IN HOTELS AND AT A PREMIUM. WHEN I WAS THERE THREE YEARS AGO I WAS TOLD THAT THE ST JOSEPH HOTEL HAS A DISCO MOST NIGHTS. IT DOESNT HAVE A GOOD NAME IM AFRAID, ITS FREQUENTED BY WESTERN WOMEN AND YOUNG EGYPTIAN BOYS. Afraid I have to back up other replies. I've been going to Luxor a couple of times a year since 1995; there are no bars or clubs. All of the hotels serve drink but it isn't cheap. For example: Local beer about £3.50 a bottle (more in some places), gin and tonic or cocktail (major hotels only) between £6 and £8. Nightlife, clubbing, bars is non-existent. Some hotels advertise nightclubs but there aren't actually any... just the hotel bar open late. If extreme weather temperatures, relaxation and touring sites of historical interest Luxor is ideal. Bars, clubs, beaches and parties; you'll be disappointed.

Luxor is very low key, bar and club wise. Most hotels catering to westerners serve alcohol at a price, but that's about it. There is no clubbing scene in the western sence of the word.
