Hello, I am planning to take the AVE to Sevilla for a day trip there, returning in the evning back to Madrid (where I am staying). I would love to have a travel buddy so that I wont have to be alone. If anyone is interested, please email or call me. 34661064206. I would like to see the main 2 sights (Alcazar and forgot what the other one is called..sorry) and if we have time, see the rest of what the city has to offer. Steve Ricks says that one day is enough to see Sevilla..so I am going by his words. I plan to leave Madrid on the Ave by 7:30 and leave sevilla by the last Ave train at 22:00. I`m a 27 year old girl, orginally from Thailand but live in San Francisco. My name is Kwan.

You should fit in Flamenco- but maybe you won't be there in the evening.I suppose some places might have a daytime show.

Some of the most stupid things I heard about Spain were said by Rick Steves (I assume is him the one you mean)

No, one day is enough to "see" Sevilla, take a couple of pics and say "I was here". He probably did not add that if your particular day is in summer you may not be able to walk due to the heat (no kiding), so you might end in any bar with a/c, yor trip resulting on a silly waste of money. And he forgot to say that the most interesting things in Sevilla happen after dark. He probably left the city to early to know...

Yes, Isa,one day is nothing like enough!You're right about the heat.We baked when we went there in May! I went with a friend who wanted to buy a property there and see the sights.
She found a house to rent for a year, whilst she looked gradually on day 1, thanks to an amazing taxi driver we had!He befriended us and showed us around and we stay in touch.He was invaluable when my friend settled there, helping with schools for the kids, banking, how to buy a house,etc.,etc.
I stayed with her for a week and hardly touched on the city!

I had no idea of who Rick Steves was...but now I have checked his website...and if he says Sevilla can be visited in one day...I will forget about that guy at once!
But I am mad because probably he has become millionarie just traveling!

If you just have one day for Seville, I would recomended to you to go to the cathedral(it is impressive) and after that walk through that neighborhood enjoying the nice buildings...but if it is in summer time, it won´t be pleasant, sorry. Today they say on the radio they will reach to 45º centigrades.

Yes we did that walk, near the cathedral.Isn't the cathedral wonderful?We found a great restaurant in that area too.Jugs of sangria were consumed!
