The easiest and quickest way to get to Brussels from Antwerp is by train. You can then arrive in Brussels Midi. It is not an expensive fare, 6.10 Euro, and it takes approximately 50 minutes. The website is http://www.b-rail.be/main/index.html

The main station in Antwerp is, unsurprisingly, called Antwerp Centraal. Hope this is of some use.

I have no idea where the river cruises arrive in Antwerp (you should ask the organisers for the exact address), and it is impossible to guess because there are several different docks and for the nearest bus/tram stop, it would also make a difference exactly where in the dock the boat ties up. However, there are trams and buses that run from all over town to the Central Station, so it should be perfectly simple to get there from wherever it is.
There are no buses from Antwerp to Brussels apart from the airport bus (from Keyserlei near the Central Station to Brussels Airport), but the train only takes about 45 minutes: if you want to do some sightseeing in Brussels get off at Gare Centrale which is only 5 minutes walk from the Grand' Place. The 2 cities are about 50 km apart.
Information about buses to Antwerp Airport was given in this forum very recently, probably you will have to get a bus or tram from the dock to the Central Station first and change there for the airport bus, which I think is no. 14.

best way from Antwerpen to Brussels is by train. Antwerpen Centraal station is worth seeing in itself!

Public transport in Antwerpen is operated by De Lijn. Its online pages are only in Flemish, but maps of the buses, trams and metro in the city are here:

http://www.delijn.be/documentatie/antwerpen/stadscentrum07.pdf (city centre)

http://www.delijn.be/documentatie/antwerpen/netplan_antwerpen07.pdf

As an earlier posting said, you need to know where you arrive in the city.

if you look at my page of Antwerp you can see a big river cruise ship arriving at Antwerp centre.

ok I see you need more information to get to Brussels.
it is easy
if it is at the normal big arrival at Antwerp centre you will debark in front of the pedestrian tunel, a nice early 20ties century building/tunnel that could lead you to the other side to watch the skyline of Antwerp.
But you could pass this and cross the street, over the litte square called Het Sand and to the left into Hoogstraat, ignoring on your way the most world double unesco awarded museum in the world (Plantin Moretus) into a street at your right handside (Heiligen geest straat, and turn into right direction Groenplaats (missing the historical place of the Grote Markt) and here you have the option of taking the metro 3 or 2 or 15 till station Plazza hotel or Diamond, but you also could walk the 15 minutes towards the station and at least look up the magnificient facades that will tell you about Old Antwerp.
The shops here are not worth while, you will see exact copies in Brussels.
The real interesting shops are now at the right side area.
If you walk this street, or take the metro you will end up in the magnificient station that has been figuring as the Brussels staion in one of Agatha's christie's filmed books, Murder on the Orient express...
you have time to look around as there are about every 20 minutes leaving a train to Brussels
but best take the IC trains, you loose less time
in weekend the tickets are half priceds, in weekdays you might opt for a b-day ticket.
But then again
it is almost a sin to miss Antwerp if you are here just a day.
but oh well I understand :)
it is the guide books right?
just follow the crowd :)
