air berlin flies from Dusseldorf to both PAris Orly and Paris CDG. They are a budget airline, worth checking prices for your dates

Check with Thalys if you can get a special ticket for these trains from Cologne to Paris Nord.
http://www.thalys.com

From Düsseldorf you can travel on a local public transport ticket (EUR 9,30) to Cologne.

No night trains on this route.

You can also fly from Köln (Cologne) to Paris with discount flights.

I advise against the flights because the cities are so close. You can take the train from Cologne to Paris in 4 hours and then you can at least see some scenery.

If you fly, you have to figure:
1.5 hours ahead of the flight at the airport, 1 hour flight, plus at least 1 hour waiting for luggage and travel to the city = 3.5 hours total.

The cheap flights also fly either early or late, so you may have to wake up around 4 AM.

So there is no real advantage to flying (unless the price is very very low), plus short haul flights like this really pump out a lot of CO2.
