Ko Phi Phi Don Travel Forum

This may require a long answer, we'll be in Bangkok by September, our first stop is Cambodia then go to Phi Phi to see the famous Maya Bay. I'm just confuse, if I we'll go back to Bangkok from our Cambodia trip, and we want to go to Phi Phi, how can we go there, were just planning to take a bus ( that will save us one night from staying in a hotel, hehe )Should we take a bus going to Krabi or to Phuket??? And if you also know some sites that shows the bus schedules and fares, that would be great, thanks!

Okay ive done this trip about 3 years ago. Phnom Penh-Siem Riep-Bangkok-Phuket-Phi Phi-Krabi-Haadyai.
Fr Siem Riep i rented a limo (that's what the locals say, yeah rite!..)as i didn't want to take the open air 4x4 journey (that ride will seriously hurt your b**t & you'll be inhaling dirt/dust & what not) on the bumpy dirt road(what tar road? swear to god, the pot holes were so big that a 1 tan lorry can go in) to go to the border of Aranya Prathet to get into Thailand.Nice scenic village scenery all the way. But seriously, looking back it was really the journey getting me to the destination that makes up the whole trip more memorable.Ha,ha...crazy.
Before crossing over into Thailand, the cambodians built casinos. This looked to me like a 'cowboy town', okay (get it?). Many Thais crossed over to gamble as well.
Over at the other side,i took a van to Bangkok from the border @ about 3hrs or so (i think).Just as you get into that border town, they have casinos. It's a cowboy town.
By the time I was in Bangkok, it was dark - went straight to the main bus terminal to hop on a VIP (be specific)coach to Phuket. Go to the correct counter - ask around to check on prices/schedule.That place can get quite chaos.
The coach was clean,comfy,they served bun/pastry/drinking water/w toilet & even provided blanket.Can't remember how much i paid - maybe about Bht800++ (apparently,they've just increased the fare that time).Coach stopped somewhere in the early hrs at a clean,organized but noisy rest area that looked like a big restaurant.
Arrvd at Phuket bus terminal (east of the town centre) around 7am (journey's about 13hrs)just nice to have bfast.
I left Siem Riep early morning the day before. So it was like all the way on the road over 24 hrs non-stop. Yes I too decide not to waste/spend 1 nite at Bangkok.
Fr Phuket to Koh Phi Phi (Ton Sai Bay)- take the fast boat. Again, ask & check around for the best prices...u never know what kind of better deals u'll get.

Oh my God, Kartina, that sounds like torture, not a holiday!

Why wouldn't you fly? It's so cheap and you will get an extra day to do things.

I realized that it would eat a lot of time so we may just have to fly from Siem Reap and go straight to Phuket, my only problem now is how to find a flight from Siem Reap to Phuket, I hope there is...

Nope. You'll have to fly back to Bangkok first.
