| Braubach | Does the train go near the castle Marksburg? Posted: Tue July 24, 2007 06:53 AM UTC
I guess the tittle pretty much asks the question. Basically I just need to know how far we would have to travel from a train station to get to Marksburg castle, and if there is any convenient way to get there. Please e-mail me at hecatombmi@yahoo.com I would rather use my normal e-mail since I'm trying to arrange the whole trip and I have everything else going to that address.

Marksburg castle is in Braubach which has also a train station.
You can walk from there (approx. 20 min) or take the "Marksburg-Express" http://www.marksburg.de/english/anfahrt.htm

and in summer there is also a small street-train, starting at the train-station - a traktor and some wagons taking you up to the castle.
In case that you have handicapped people with you I have to tell you that the last bit from the large car-park is quite steep and there was no way to see the castle for my mother that way.
