We will be there next month and wonder what type of weather we can expect. Is it too hot and how about rainstorms?Thank you-Gene

Expect it to be hot... right now it's too hot, actually (temperatures are expected to rise to 40C - so it's not subjective). If it rained a bit we would not mind... anyway in august it's not very likely to have rainstorms, in the worst case it will likely be an occasional shower.
I see that you have travelled to Italy before... so you probably know that italians take their holidays in August... you might find the city half deserted, and many restaurants will be closed. Attractions should stay open, I think. Make reservations for Stresa, as it may be fully booked.

Thank you for responses.Guess it will be a bit hot but we come from Florida so we are used to humidity etc. Rain would be a bigger issue with us as we like to walk around but the young lady who lives in Torino advised that rain is unlikely-Thanks
