i am due to visit the area at the begining of august, obviously i shall be keen to look around segovias many attractions, however i would like to take my 2 year old, freya, to a swimming pool or lido. are there any open air pools in the area, or any other attractions that would appeal to a small child?

You could take Freya to the Castle of Cuellar. It is located some 30 km from Segovia. There is a nice show at the weekends there. Have a look at my Spain page. I wrote a tip about it some time ago.
