Would appreciate anyone's help with the following questions:

1) How low could temperatures fall mid-to-end October? I know this is a silly question considering one could easily browse the web, but I'd be more interested to hear firsthand experiences.

2) Ramadan ends in mid-October, what would it be like in Cappadocia during Ramadan? Can one eat in public without offending religious sensibilities? Will there be guides available? Transportation easy to come by?

3) I have a very limited time in Cappadocia, expecting to explore the sights in just three days. Which would be the most strategic base - Goreme or Urgup? Or any other place?

1) visit my Nevsehir page. The days are hot, nights are cooler. You will need a pull-over or a sacco for the night.
2) No problem during Ramadan. You will find your food over all. eg. hotels and pensions serve for tourists. no problem.
3) Urgup, Goreme, Uchisar are the night places
Have a nice time

three days is ample time.
Just got back yesterday> We were based in goreme. One day red tour, one day green tour, and any one morning for balloon ride. actually 2 days is enough

Basically the whole area and its sights are divided into 4 tours, out of which the red tour(covering the fairychimneys, rock formations, look out points, and pottery demonstrations, and goreme open air museum) and the green tour( ilhara valley hike, underground city, caravenserai etc), the other two yellow and blue are only if you have time. Most of the stuff you can cover in these two tours.
