Hi there, September still rain season in Thailand. but sometime it's just very sunnyday. someday rain on the moring or evening only. depends on the weather of each day. I just got back from Koh Tao earier of this month which it's rain season too. when I was there it's rain time to time. sometime heavy one, sometime not. But I had a great time at Koh Tao. Snokeling 's so great there ! I stayed at Sai Ree Beach have some very nice resort there but I would recommend you to try to stay at Chalok Baan Kao beach , or Tien Oag beach. Snokeling at Tien Oag beaech is wonderful and I saw they have great resort on this beach which I just walked pass throuth in it becuase we lose way to back when swim to snokeling too far. but I cant remember the name though. you will see it anyway when u got this beach. Becuase it's quite huge.
Enjoy Koh Tao u will love it there. Lin

In the southern Gulf area (Samui and Tao) the wettest period is usually October into early January.
You should just miss it. Even if it does rain it should be isolated showers in the afternoon.
