Punta Cana A few questions
Posted: Wed July 18, 2007 11:53 PM UTC
I plan on taking our company on a trip this winter to an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic and have a few questions regarding resorts and dining. I'd like to stay in Punta Cana somewhere at an all-inclusive that has a party type atmosphere, there will be about 60 of us ranging from 26-60 most are in their late 30's early 40's. Looking for one of the better places but pool/beach activities and bars/nightclubs are important. We would rather not have to leave the resort very often. Also, I've been doing alot of reading and it appears that most of the restaurants require men to wear pants to dinner, is this the policy at all the restaurants? or is only at the higher end restaurants?

I would recommend the MELIA CARIBE TROPICAL RESORT I stayed there last summer as part of a wedding, and they are very accomodating to your needs. We had a few birthdays in between our stays and they would help us in setting up semi private areas around the resort to celebrate, they didnt even suggest to use their conference halls which they have plenty of. Its a resort big enough where you can get together & still have your privacy when needed. It is technically 2 resorts in 1 as it used to be 2 different hotels (melia caribe & melia tropical). Now that they've been combined it has over 1000 rooms. They have golf onsite for those who are interested, a casino, spa, disco, etc. Everything for everyone. Their Asian restaurant is great. As for dress requirements, not that you have to wear a tuxedo, or jacket and tie, not at all, they are not very strict, its just that men shouldn't wear shorts, sleveless shirts & sandals, OK at the buffet restaurants but not a la carte.
