Hello,
Grateful if anyone could advise on how I should go about in planning my itinerary with the following info :- 1. Would be starting my journey from Macau. ( Oct / Nov ) 2. Plan to travel to Chendu before embarking to Jiuzhaigou. My questions are :- 1. The easiest, faster & cheapest way to Chendu from Macau or Hong Kong ? 2. Which are the easiest & cheaper way of securing domestic flights in China ? Local travel agent or in the airport itself ? 3. The minimum number of days that needed to cover from Chendu to Jiuzhaigou ? Tks a lot ! |

Do you have plenty of time?
1. Macau into China is considered an international transit and so all flights will be expensive. You can consider the ferry to GZ and from there train up to Chengdu or do a domestic flight from GZ to Chengdu. 2. The flights to JZG is always expensive esp for the peak season of Oct/Nov. SHould have escaled to almost 1000yuan per way. Cheapest way is via bus to JZG. Whichever method you book your flight to JZG, is going to set you at about the same price. 3. 3 days 2 nights, minimum to see JZG, not including journey from CD to JZG. Not sure if you want to see huanglong (half a day will do) and the ShenXianChi - a newly opened park (takes a day). 4. Note : from JZG airport , it's still a 2-hr bus to the hotels near the park.

I went to Hong Kong in this march. I took the airplane from Chengdu to Shenzhen at noon (Round trip ticket: about RMB1400). After about 2 hours, I arrived in Shenzhen Bao'an Airport. Then, I took a shuttle bus near the entrance of the airport to Shenzhen Fuyong Ferry. I paid RMB 180 (including the fee for transportation service from Shenzhen Bao'an to Hong Kong) when I got on the bus. After 5 minutes, I reached the ferry.

1. Enter Zhuhai from Macau first, then take a flight to Chengdu. much cheaper than taking a flight from Macau directly.
Same as Macau, take a flight from Shenzhen instead of Hongkong if you start from HK. 2. usually get more discount from agents. 3. see my jiuzhaigou page; it differs depending on the transpo you take from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou.
