Machu Picchu in November

I am thinking about going to Machu Picchu in November. Is it a good time to go? I heard that it is the raining season. Also, I will be traveling solo. Any advice I can use? Thanks!

We were there in January 2004. Also supposed to be the rainy season. Yes there was some rain, quite heavy at times but always in the second part of the afternoon.

I went in April, or was it May?...so I don't know about the weather in Nov.
As far as going alone, that's not a problem at all. I went alone, and had no problems--of course I'm a guy.

You'll meet people on the train ride up. I met a guy from France and from just north of me in Canada and we did the tour w/guide at MP together. Then we broke up and wandered around alone. There's always someone available nearby to take your photo there. Rooms aren't that expensive, even if you're alone.

If you do, get your tickets for everything in Cusco. Be careful in crowds, someone I met 'lost' his camera, which was on his waist, and all his photos.

Hi, I went to the Machu Picchu alone. It was wonderfull!!. I stayed in May, it never rain, always perfect and safe for a woman who travel alone. In Cusco I stayed in "Los Apus" hotel, and in Aguas Calientes in the Hanaqpacha Inn Hotel. Good Luck.

Thank you to both of you for the information about traveling solo. I feel more confident now. So far people had been telling me that I was out of my mind for thinking about traveling over there by myself!

I too would like to know what the weather is like in November, as I(a lone traveller, am considering going then). People have left replies but none say what the weather is like in November, only what is was like when they went.

Does anyone know what it is like in Novemember. Thanks
