Verona understnding /www.navigazionelaghi.it

I hate to admit this but am having trouble figuring the fares on this site. Locating the fare for the trip on e way RT etc is easy enough but what about the multiple listing from top to bottom ? can anyone help? We would like to take a lake trip at some point. I don't see a lot of stops where in Padenghe where we will be located. We are looking at every way to get around ! The bus website is all in Italian --Unfortunately, I am not that good at translating . We are mostly interested in getting into Desenzano for connections to train etc.. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much

I am assuming that the bus website you were using is http://www.trasportibrescia.it ? Well, if so, here is some info...

Look at http://www.trasportibrescia.it/upload/orari/estivi/LN007.pdf . This shows a bus line that runs through Padenghe to Desenzano, terminating at the train station there. This is weekday only service (i.e., not Sunday and holidays, includes Saturday). At the top of each column is a "Est" (summer service), "Inv" (service during the school year), and "Ann" (service all year). Note that there are few buses on this route, but it takes only ten minutes.

Also look at http://www.trasportibrescia.it/upload/orari/estivi/LN006.pdf which is a different line that makes the same trip.

Also not http://www.trasportibrescia.it/upload/orari/estivi/LN009.pdf which is a line that takes you from Padenghe to Brescia (45 minutes to 55 minutes or so). If you want to take the train east to Venice, this would not be a good choice, since Brescia is to the west...but if you want to go to Milan, then this may be preferable, as Brescia is a major stop (some express trains from Venice to Milan won't stop at Desenzano, but will at Brescia).

In any case, I can't imagine that you'll have a problem finding out what bus to take and when once you're in Padenghe...the local place that sells these bus tickets (hmmmn, I don't know that this is the only bus company) is:
TABACCHERIA VEZZOLA DUILIA (i.e., a tobacco store, which is a common sales point)
PIAZZA MATTEOTTI, 18
PADENGHE SUL GARDA
Closed Sundays and on Monday afternoons
Open: 07:30-13:00/15:00-19:30

Ciao Bill!

Wow, you made a huge research already.
For the poster.... yes, Padenghe seems not ( http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/gar/nlg_ora.html ) to be a main boats stop, so you better move to Desenzano by bus first

Prices on http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/gar/nlg_ora.html seems quite clear. There are 7 tarif, to know wich applies cross the 2 harbours you need, and to know the value in Euros of each of the seven just click on it...

Ciao Bill

You are wonderful and have the patience of a saint. Whenever I read a post from you I feel secure and confidant. That is magic in this world!

Ok, If I can impose upon yu once again- here is my biggest dilemna. When we depart the lake Garda region on 29/09 from Padenghe heading to the VRN airport I do NOT want to rely on public transport. The problem is that some private companies consider Padenghe in the Gardone billing region and jack the price up incredibly. One Co. quoted 96 euro for Desenzano and for Padenghe ( only 3 km away ) 140 euro (that is for 2 adults of course)
Do you know of any reliable airport transport tht will treat us fairly and we do need PU at out residence location.

Thanks so very much

With luck, Francesco will pop in with a recommendation for a transport company (limo) from Pandenghe to Verona airport...after all, Francesco lives in Verona, and can maybe send his cousin or brother-in-law over...hehehe...seriously, I think Francesco has posted something like this before, so let's see what he says...

Someone were talking of me?

Well, advice #1 as like to a friend: Padenghe to VRN is 34 km, so i bet there could be a LOT of people (retired workers, young needing a few euros, etc.) that would be happy to bring you there for 40/50 euro. So, why you don't simply ask around when you are there? Language barrier may be a problem (need a translation to print?) but asking the bar waiter,at the restaurant, etc. I bet can sort out something. I could even probably find someone, but from Verona center and the other side of the lake, and asking a few days before. Of course someone based in Padenghe would be more logic (anch cheap). For this, you must not be the super-organized kind of people that needs to know every step before leaving.

Anyway (#2) asking around when there could help finding a taxi or limo company based there, maybe with agrrements with your accomodation, that has reasonable prices. I have one in my Verona transportation tip, you can try and ask them to see the rate they do. From My house (that is a few hundred meters from their base, to the airport - 20 km maybe - they asl 20, if i remember well, on a working day)

Ciao
Francesco

Bueno Serra Francisco

Grazie for the info . I wonder since you mention a transport company in "your Verona transportation tips"- where would I find that information?
Unfortunately, I would feel better to have my return arrangement organized since I will be returning to the states at that point and need to ensure I actually make it to the airport on time. The rest of the visit I am not overly concerned about specifics and plan to relax and have some fun. Since I am not bilingual I need to have some structure!

Thank you all !
